working among the Shan and other people groups from Myanmar

Here are our newsletter for April, and a lot has happened in the last few months out here in South East Asia.

An Exciting Start

Here comes our first newsletter of the year out here in Northern Thailand. It’s cold here as in Europe too, with temperatures down to the freezing point and frost in the mountains around us, but during daytime the temperature is comfortable with about 25 degrees Celsius. This is the best time of year in Northern Thailand.

We had an exciting Christmas party and a start of the New Year. We have been busy after New Year too, and we have seen more people become Christians and we had our first baptism of the year last week. We have also reached over 16,000 people with the Christmas message.
Read more about it in this newsletter!

Healing, Sixty Children and a Team

Newsletter from the Ministry: Good News for the Shan
We are working in Northern Thailand among the
Shan people and other people groups from Myanmar

We are still waiting for some colder weather here in Northern Thailand. We are in tropical regions, but it can still be relatively cold here around Christmas. The temperature in the north can drop to 8 degrees Celsius in the morning and there can be frost in the mountains around us. Because it’s a little colder, we often get a bit of a Christmas feeling around Christmas anyway, even if it’s not snowy.

We will mention several things in this newsletter, but two highlights are the story of Pi Wii who has been miraculously healed and the woman with an illness who got an experience of God’s love.

Successful Start-up of Our Saturday School

Newsletter from the ministry Good News for the Shan in
Northern Thailand, working among the Shan people from Myanmar.

Here comes a summer newsletter from us out here in northern Thailand.
While summer has come to Europe and in the west, the summer holidays are over here in Thailand and we are at the beginning of the rainy season. It can be both hot and quite annoyingly humid some days out here.

This will be a relatively short newsletter that will be about: Starting up our Saturday school in our ministry with almost 60 children, and some about our new Christians.

The Flame Passes On

Newsletter from the ministry Good News for the Shan in
Northern Thailand, working among the Shan people from Myanmar.

It has been some months since our last newsletter, but a lot of exciting things have happened since then in our ministry in Northern Thailand, and it will be difficult to include everything in this newsletter.

We will concentrate on telling some of the stories and backgrounds of how seven people have received Jesus and whom we have baptized, from November to now, and the fire continues to be passed on.

This newsletter will be relatively long, but I think it will be inspiring reading for you, to see what God is doing out here in Southeast Asia.

They Lost Everything In The Flash Flood

Newsletter from the ministry Good News for the Shan in
Northern Thailand, working among the Shan people from Myanmar.

We are in a busy time right now. We have visits from a DTS team from Canada, and we also have been giving out Covid-19 relief as food to many families and individuals affected by the Covid-19 situation, which is virtually most of the people we are reaching out to.
The Covid-19 situation has worsened here in the north recently, but vaccinations are in progress.

Last week we also visited four families who lost everything in a flood.

Read more about this in our newsletter.

God Is at Work In a Challenging Time

Newsletter from the ministry Good News for the Shan in
Northern Thailand, working among the Shan people from Myanmar.

It is the end of the rainy season here in northern Thailand, and the “cold” season will soon begin, with temperatures below “20 degrees” Celsius at night.

In the last three months, we haven’t done much external activity in the ministry because of increase in Covid-19 cases in Thailand. At the beginning of August, it peaked at around 23k people who got Covid-19 per day, but now it is down to 11k, some days, so it is on the right track.

Our ministry during these three months has not stopped up because of this. We have not been able to do some things, but we have had a lot of contact with people through Messenger, Facebook and telephone, and we pray for people almost every day.

There are many who are hungry for the Good News now. We have several who wants to receive Jesus, and we have also experienced people who have been healed trough prayer, but we have also experienced some challenges especially in connection with the Covid-19 situation.

Read more about this in our newsletter.
